Model 3 is a solid survival knife for outdoor activities, camping, and bushcraft activities. The blade is made of carbon steel from 1095. The durable powder coating in "Dark Earth" color on the blade helps protect against greater susceptibility to corrosion, which this steel is known for. With proper use and care, this knife with this steel will last you a lifetime. The knife has a handle made of micarta material, in a subtle gray color. This material is slightly rough, which is good for grip and work in wet conditions. The ESEE 3 has a relatively small length, so it won't take up much space in your gear. These small dimensions indicate that the knife can be used as an EDC knife. The handle has a finger guard and overall provides a solid and reliable grip, despite its simple and not very shaped handle. The knife comes with a well-designed, flexible Zytel sheath, which can be attached in any way, on the included mounting system compatible with the MOLLE system or with a steel belt clip.
