The blade features a Wharncliffe shape with a plain edge and a full flat grind, crafted from black DLC-coated CPM-S30V steel. This American powder steel is known for its corrosion resistance and durability, thanks to its composition of carbon, chromium, and vanadium. Opening the knife with one hand is a breeze due to the thumb hole, and the blade is securely held in place by the Compression Lock, a patented mechanism by Spyderco, located on the back of the handle.
