Spyderco C41SBK5 Native 5 Lightweight Black After thorough internal blade performance testing, Spyderco decided to change the blade steel of the Native 5 model from CPM-S35VN to CPM-S30V, so some versions of the Native 5 will have different steels. This change also applies to the materials used for G10 and FRN handles. Most versions of the Native 5 will be equipped with G-10 material. The knife blade is made of CPM-S35VN steel. It is tapered from the top edge, which helps with increased cutting performance. It is serrated along the entire length of the cutting edge, almost to the tip. It opens with the round hole on the blade, characteristic of Spyderco. After opening, the blade locks with a back lock mechanism. The handle is made of black FRN material. It is slightly shaped with a fine non-slip treatment. The liners are reinforced with embedded steel inserts for added strength. The pocket clip is stainless steel, glossy, and four-way positionable, giving you four options for attachment. There is also a lanyard hole on the handle.
