The motif of flowers is often used in Japanese decorative art, from chrysanthemums to cherry blossoms, it is an elegant type of ornamentation and it is a sight that always pleases the eye. The Cold Steel Flower Katana is characterized by a stylized floral pattern on the silver/nickel Tsube and Kashire. It has a blade made of 1060 carbon steel with a convex grind. The edge of the blade was differentially tempered in the characteristic Japanese way to create a clay-tempered Hamon. The attractive handle made of hard wood is tightly wrapped with black silk cord and includes traditional Menuki and Samé (Ray Skin) underlay. The supplied black lacquered Saya (sheath) is made of hard wood and is finished with traditional Japanese silver/nickel fittings.
