In 1947, Michail Kalashnikov introduced the AK-47 assault rifle to the Red Army, which he designed and immediately convinced the decision-making authorities of its development. Only two years later, the now world-famous AK-47 was officially put into operation as the "7.62 mm Awtomat Kalashnikova obraztsa 1947". Even then, it was simple and reliable. The bayonet, which was introduced in 1959 along with the improved variant of the AK-47 AKM, was no less revolutionary than the famous assault rifle itself. The concept was based on a knife originally developed by R. Todorov. In 2002, Michail Kalashnikov personally visited the Boker factory in Solingen and officially introduced the Boker Kalashnikov knife series to the public. More than 70 years after the introduction of the AK-47, we present a truly exceptional special model of the knife series and once again honor its outstanding technical success. The Boker Kalashnikov Bayonet Damascus is equipped with a unique Damascus blade made of 6Ch3 and 6Ch4 bayonet steel according to the GRAU index of the former Soviet army, decorated with the signature of General Kalashnikov. The stainless Damascus by Chad Nichols consists of 80 layers and is hand-forged. It features an unusually complex pattern, which is the result of a highly controlled forging process. The blade opens with a thumb and is secured with a robust safety lock. The handle is made of block 6061-T6 aluminum and coated with black anodized color. The handle features grip wood that resembles the famous assault rifle. Handcrafted in Solingen. It comes in a gift box, along with a certificate of authenticity and an individual serial number.
