Paua are mollusks of the abalone genus. Unlike abalones, they come exclusively from the untouched nature of the coastal waters of New Zealand. They have served as traditional body tattoos for the Maori for many centuries and are still used as decorations on figurines, weapons, and conference houses. The impressive scales of the handle are completely unique in terms of color and pattern. The blade with a French point is honed to an extra hollow grind and of course also carries a historic engraving that was once used for particularly unusual Boker razors.
