Tirpitz, also known as the Lone Queen of the North, was the second battleship of the Bismarck class, of the German Kriegsmarine. It was named after the German admiral Alfred von Tirpitz. The enormous battleship was sunk in 1944 off the coast of Norway. Immediately after the end of World War II, a Norwegian company sent experts to salvage the wreck of the ship in order to make the highly alloyed steel available for civilian purposes. Boker received some parts of the salvaged Tirpitz's armor. Their blacksmith took these living historical artifacts and created exclusive and exceptional steel with a fascinating history. The blade consists of 300 layers of hand-forged Tirpitz Damascus steel with the pattern "Great Pyramid" and a hardness of 61 to 63 HRC. It opens with a thumb stud and is secured by a liner lock with a thickness of 1.5 mm. It features a clip with two possible positions for attachment. The handle is made of walnut wood, where the coat of arms and the name Tirpitz are engraved. It is delivered in a collector's case with an individual serial number and a certificate of authenticity.
