Chinese Leaf Gim is considered a civilian weapon. It is not intended for demanding battles where it could face much larger and heavier weapons. It was more or less a gentleman's weapon that looked impressive and was sturdy enough to offer good defense in the streets or on open fields. It is traditionally used primarily for stabbing, but it is also capable of delivering a truly frightening blow when slashing. The Cold Steel version has a tempered blade made of carbon steel 1060. The handle made of palisander wood is complemented by a decorated guard and a stainless steel pommel. The scabbard is also made of palisander wood to be visually compatible with the handle.
