Japanese swords from the Emperor series have proven to be very popular among many customers of Cold Steel since their first introduction almost five years ago. However, they are aware that there are people who want a battle-ready sword but hope to find it at a more affordable price. The Warrior series addresses this problem directly. In an effort to reduce the price of the blades, Cold Steel has omitted the expensive mirror polishing used on their Imperial swords to create a series with a more practical surface. Wakizashi swords often served as secondary weapons or for combat in small spaces. The blade is made of hardened carbon steel 1055. The attractive handle made of hard wood is tightly wrapped with cord and features traditional Menuki and Samé (Ray Skin). The included black lacquered Saya (scabbard) is made of hard wood. The packaging includes a fabric cover for carrying and storing the sword.
