When the company ESEE finally decided to produce knives specifically for hunters, it sought advice and opinions from the best in the field, and the Ashley Game Knife (AGK) was designed by Ashley Emerson. As a guide and hunter from Alaska to Africa, Ashley had the opportunity to advise on hundreds of deer, a much larger number of wild boars, and other animals from squirrels to bison. Ashley used a wide range of handle materials and prefers Micarta for working knives because grip and feel are much more important when working with game than having a handle resistant to sweat, blood, and other fluids. Like the stonewashed blade, it acquires a great "worn" appearance through use. The knife comes with a high-quality kydex sheath.
