The ESEE-3PM-MB-DT Model 3 is a versatile outdoor/bushcraft/survival knife, highly favored by law enforcement and military personnel for its lightweight design, slim profile, and multiple sheath configurations. The Drop Point blade features a plain edge and flat grind, crafted from Desert Tan powder-coated carbon steel 1095. This knife boasts full-tang construction, meaning the blade extends through the entire length of the knife. While 1095-carbon steel offers excellent toughness, it is not highly resistant to corrosion. It tends to discolor quickly when exposed to moisture, salt, or acid. To maintain its condition, clean the knife after use and occasionally apply a drop of oil. Over time, 1095 steel develops a patina, enhancing its resistance to corrosion. The handle is crafted from desert tan Micarta, a composite material made from linen and synthetic resin. Upon close inspection, you may notice a subtle texture on the surface, giving it an almost wood-like appearance. This material is both strong and stable, providing an excellent grip.
