The ESEE Libertariat Machete - USA Edition is a creation by John Armstrong, crafted specifically for Expat Knives, a branch of ESEE Knives, as a lightweight survival tool for tropical environments. It's perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, survivalists, and bushcraft aficionados. This fixed blade with a plain edge is forged from black-finished SAE 1095 carbon steel. With its full-tang construction, the blade extends through the entire knife, ensuring durability and strength. The blade also features a 90° spine, ideal for striking a ferro rod.While 1095 carbon steel offers excellent edge retention, it is not highly resistant to corrosion. It can discolor quickly when exposed to moisture, salt, or acid. To maintain its condition, clean the knife after use and occasionally apply a drop of oil. Over time, a patina will develop on the 1095 steel, enhancing its resistance to corrosion. The handle is crafted from light-brown Micarta, providing a superior grip even in wet or slippery conditions. It comes with a Tan nylon sheath, ensuring secure storage and easy access. The sheath is MOLLE compatible, allowing for convenient attachment to backpacks or gear belts.
