The company LionSteel was founded in 1969 in the town of Maniago, where knife production is as traditional as in the German Solingen. It was founded by Mr. Gino Pauletta and was primarily focused on contract manufacturing of knives for other manufacturers. Several years later, the company produced the first type of knife according to its own design, creating the LionSTEEL brand. The name was given by the stone statue of a lion standing in front of the building and the material from which the knives are made.
