Folding pocket knife Opinel N°08 Eclipse 002347 from limited edition, for everyday carry (EDC) or for collection.  The blade is made of stainless steel, that offers excellent sharpness and high resistance to abrasion (wear) which allows it to withstand regular contact with hard materials. The stainless steel used in OPINEL blades is a grade optimized to guarantee both high corrosion resistance and high mechanical performance.  It is equipped with a Virobloc safety ring, invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955. The Virobloc has two sections, one fixed and one sliding. In addition to locking the blade open (safety in use), it is now possible to lock the blade closed (safety in transport). The handle is made of matt ebony wood  sublimated by a sheet of aluminum, that highlights and illuminates the curve of the handle. Ebony is a rare and luxurious wood coming from the forests of Africa. Thanks to its beautiful density and deep black color, ebony is traditionally used in marquetry. The handle incorporates an aluminum foil that emphasizes its shape. This handle is oiled to revive the intensity of the wood. The knife is housed in a black velvet pouch, which is placed inside an oak gift box.
