The set consists of a cast-iron lapping stone and two bottles of lapping powder (silicon carbide - coarse grit, and medium grit). Even if you use the best sharpening stones in the world, if they are not completely flat, you will not be able to fully utilize them. That's why it's important to lap them. The lapping stone is heavy and hard. It has dimensions of 25 x 10 cm. It is enriched with grooves with a crystalline structure. These grooves improve the interaction between the lapping stone and the silicon carbide grains. The Shapton Cast Iron lapping system comes with two bottles of silicon carbide grit.
