The folding pocket knife Spyderco Shaman Lightweight C229SBK is a robust and versatile pocket knife from Spyderco's popular Shaman series, designed by Sal Glesser. This Lightweight version offers the same powerful performance and ergonomics as the original, but in a 15g lighter and more affordable package! This version has a serrated edge to cut tough materials, like cardboard or rope. Features a full-flat-ground CTS® BD1N stainless steel blade, which is available in both PlainEdge™ and fully serrated SpyderEdge™ configurations. CTS-BD1N is a highly rust-resistant and balanced steel type that is ideal for EDC use. It is relatively easy to sharpen and retains its sharpness very well thanks to a good combination of hardness and toughness. Opening with one hand is very easy thanks to the thumb hole. Once opened, the sturdy Compression Lock ensures that the blade is locked and won't accidentally close during use. The Compression Lock is an invention by Sal Glesser and his son Eric Glesser of Spyderco. The handle features the same comfortably radiused shape as the original, but are injection molded from resilient fiberglass-reinforced nylon (FRN). This reduces the knife’s overall weight by nine percent and adds a pebbled texture for an enhanced grip.  A four-position pocket clip completes the package, allowing this remarkable knife to be carried tip-up or tip-down on either side of the body.
